Bewaa Wele – Holiday Edition

Hello everyone!

Firstly, we apologize for the temporary hiatus of our newsletter updates. It has been a busy few months working on administrative tasks related to solidifying the structure of the DMC in Bernard’s absence. There is still a lot to do, but we are happy to say that the DMC is continuing to host students and groups. A few groups passed through this fall and there are several individual students studying with us right now. We are also looking forward to welcoming a group from Bernard’s alma matter, SUNY Fredonia, at the beginning of 2019. You will also see more information below about our Summer 2019 plans: it is gearing up to be another busy and music-filled summer at the DMC and we hope you can help send more wonderful people our way. Also, Saakumu will be coming back to the US very shortly, and we can’t wait for yet another fantastic tour.

As we reflect on what has been a tumultuous year for the DMC and Woma families, we would remiss if we didn’t say thank you for your continued support, love, and patience that you have provided us all. The DMC would not be here without all of you and we are greatly looking forward to watching Bernard’s legacy continue (and grow!) as we head into 2019.

We wish you the happiest of holidays with your family and friends and hope to see you soon.

With much gratitude and love,

Everyone at the DMC
